Just the Plan Ma'am and nothing but the Plan

I work outside of the home. It's a pretty demanding job located about a thirty minute drive each way.  My son and niece go to school near there. So we car pool to save gas.

Things have been pretty hectic at work lately and there have been some days that I leave the office and come home to finish working on some items.

My honey hubby works second shift and he's not much of a cook (sorry honey, but you warm things up really well). Before following the low carb diet, I would make excuses all the time for eating out or eating junk food for dinner. From "I'm too tired" to "I don't know what to cook."  AND there's no lie, when I don't have a plan, both of those things are true.  But, when you're eating all natural, low carb, wheat and sugar free - you pretty much have to cook for yourself.

So I spent my day/evening cooking, planning ahead for the week. Honey hubby liked the spaghetti squash so much he asked for that again.  My niece is going to try low carbing with us so that means her normal breakfast of waffles and chocolate cows milk is a no go. My son, well, he does his own thing because he's such a picky eater.

My niece will have crustless bacon & cheese quiche with stevia chocolate powder in sugar free coconut milk. This will net her about 5 carbs for breakfast. I made this tonight and put it in containers for the week.

For our lunches I made a meat spaghetti sauce and spaghetti squash which will net about 10 carbs per serving, each container is a serving size.

When I have time to cook dinner, we'll have chopped steak or chicken breast & a veggie or a salad. But on those nights when I'm beat or we have errands to run... I know I can just reach into the fridge and grab one of the pre-made dinners.

Planning ahead leads to NO excuses for cheating!!!

I'm Guilty

Yep, it's the truth... I am lazy!! The thought of getting home after ten hours in the office and going to the gym sets me into the 'I don't have the time or energy tailspin.'
When I know from personal experience once I make myself get into a routine I will stick to it. Once I get those feel good endorphins flowing in my body, my addiction will kick in. Having OCD tendencies, I'm learning how to channel that into positive outlets!!

So tonight, I WILL go to the park and walk... My food choices have been perfect for a week. Now it's time to get my body into fat burning mode.

September and the 5k will be here in 'only' 19 weeks... That time will fly!!

Stop making excuses, set a goal and commit the time to yourself. If you have time to sit and read this blog, you can find the time to move your body!!!

It's been a while since I walked any distance. I'll be taking it slow. 30 minutes is the goal for tonight. What's 30 minutes out if an 840 minute day???

Like the ole Nike commercials say... Just Do It!

UPDATE: As soon as I got home from work, my niece and I changed clothes and went to the park for a walk. Being the first outdoor walk of the year coupled with having POTS issues today we only walked one mile but we did it in 12.5 minutes. Miranda's also dealing with a loose knee cap so we took it easy -- but -- the point is -- we walked!! A mile in 12.5 minutes is a really good pace.

No excuses!!!! We feel great too!!

Slight Change of Plans

So I'm a creature of habit and when I cook for a couple hours on Sunday that usually means I'm eating the same food for a few days.

My niece, Miranda didn't want the spaghetti squash creations for dinner so I fixed Omaha Chopped steaks and green beans. I must say, it was very tasty.

I didn't have much fat today so I am now enjoying a cup of Starbucks Via with heavy whipping cream, while reading the last book in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy.

I'm down 5 pounds since Friday. I cannot wait to have time to actually get some exercise back into my routine!!!
